Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet Specs

Samsung has launched its latest tablet, The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. This device went on sale in Germany and the UAE on 6 Aug 2012 and is expected to hit the Indian market later this month.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has a 10.1-inch PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. This unit comes with a stylus called S Pen which can be used to draw or write on the screen of the Note. It has multi-touch and “multi-screen” features, where certain applications can be run alongside each other, like picture in picture on Television.

Uses Android 4.0:

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 uses Android 4.0, skinned with its proprietary TouchWiz user interface and features the Live Panels UX. This latest device is powered by 1.4GHz Exynos 4 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM.

Applications which are Pre-loaded :

With the usual Android applications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes loaded with applications like adobe photoshop touch and also has reading hub, learning hub, video hub and music hub, games hub, allshare play, allshare cast, shape match and formula match.

Other exclusive Samsung applications available in the device are S note, S planner, My story and Galaxy S III's smart stay feature. It comes with Pop Up Play application that displays videos in a small window, so that users can view it while working on other applications and the size of the video is also adjustable. For location pointing, it has a compass and the GPS comes with A-GPS, S-GPS and GLONASS support.

Comes with a rear camera of  5MP:

The New Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has a 5MP rear camera with autofocus, geo-tagging and LED flash. It can shoot HD videos at 1080p @ 30fps and the device features a 1.9MP snapper in the front for video calls.

Available in three variants:

Samsung has introduced three variants of the new Galaxy Note 10.1: Wi-Fi only, Wi-Fi+3G and Wi-Fi+LTE. The options for connectivity include Bluetooth 4, USB 2.0 host, MHL and Infrared. With this tablet users can even make calls and send SMSes.

Choice can be made between 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants of the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 and memory can also be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card. Sensors like accelerometer, light and gyroscope are present in Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

Weight, battery backup and other dimensions:

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has measures 262x180x8.9mm and the Wi-Fi version weighs 597gram, whereas the 3G model weighs 600gram. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 runs on a 7,100mAh battery which should last a day with sparing use.
